Silver Kilt Pin
This was an unusual commission to make kilt pins based on the crest of the Clan Maitland. The symbol is a lion with a sword in it’s right hand and a fleur de lys in it’s left hand so for the male clan members the sword was most appropriate and also the most convenient shape for the task.
Construction of the master was sheet sterling silver with a moulded lions paw, subsequent pieces were cast in sterling silver.
This was a challenging project however the client was delighted and has subsequently re-ordered more pieces. Of course due to the cast nature it means that many future identical kilt pins may be produced.
